The Graduate Catalog contains detailed information on requirements for degree or certificate completion. Students must meet all University and program requirements for their degree/certificate. As specified by the Graduate School, all graduate students must apply for degree and/or certificate completion by the deadlines for the session in which all requirements will be met. At the time application is made, the completion fee must be paid. Applications will be cancelled for students who fail to meet all requirements for the session in which application is made. These students must reapply for a later session. The application fee is not charged again. If a hard copy of the application for degree completion or the application for certificate completion are needed, they are available at the Graduate School Office (Hovey 309), the Student Services and Referral Center (Moulton Hall, Room 107), or at the Student Accounts Office (607 W. Dry Grove Road).

Early in the semester of anticipated completion, submit your Plan of Study to the Graduate School.

By the end of the semester, finish all coursework, projects, thesis, dissertation, transfers, comprehensive exams, incompletes, etc. that may be outstanding.

The Dean of Students Office coordinates this ceremony. A Commencement Participation form needs to be filed in the semester in which you plan to participate in the ceremony. Participation forms that were filed with the intention of participating in a previous semester's ceremony, are not updated. The Commencement Participation Form can be found on page 2 of the Application for Degree Completion (ipdf) or (pdf).
